About Us
For more than 30 years HealthproMed has guaranteed the accessibility of primary medical services to people without medical insurance from its health centers in San Juan, Carolina, Guaynabo, Vieques and Culebra.
What do we do?
HealthproMed is a private, non-profit organization that is part of the primary medical services network of the United States government and operates under section 330 of the Federal Public Health Law. Our Center is oriented on an integrated health model aimed at people without medical health plan or limited resources.
As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), it receives a grant of funds from the United States Bureau of Health and is protected under the Federal Tort Claim Act (FTCA). Among the medical services that the center offers are: Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, General Medicine, Obstetrics and Gynecology.
Our History
For more than twenty-five years, HealthproMed has guaranteed the accessibility of primary medical services to the uninsured through its health centers in San Juan, Culebra, Vieques, Carolina, Guaynabo and recently in Caparra.
Healthpromed, formerly known as IPA 508-Belaval, began as a Diagnosis and Treatments Center (DTC) organized by the municipality of San Juan. Later, we obtained a federal grant under section 330 of the Public Health Act transforming the CDT into a Community-Based Health Center.
Today, we continue to be committed to providing high-quality, fast-access, and cost-effective medical services to improve the health of our communities in a new forty-four thousand square foot physical structure. The new facility integrates new technologies to provide efficient care in keeping with the demands of our times to meet the high demand for health in the San Juan area.
Mission
