Ms. Julia Vélez, MHSA, Executive Director
Ms. Julia Vélez has more than twenty-five years of experience within the healthcare field. Vélez conducted her college studies at the University of Puerto Rico, Rio Piedras Campus. She completed a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration and a Master Degree in Health Services Administration. In 2010, the “Comite Noviembre” Foundation awarded Vélez for her outstanding work with the Puerto Rican communities. As well, she had an outstanding role as a pivotal member in different organizations such as: “El Colegio de Administradores de Servicios de Salud”, among others organizations. Last year, Vélez was selected as President of the board of directors for the Primary Healthcare Association of Puerto Rico.
Dr. Héctor Villanueva, Chief Medical Director.
Forover twenty five years, Dr. Héctor Villanueva has worked on the Belaval Health Center, now known as HealthproMed. In the last twelve years, Dr. Villanueva has been the Medical Director of the aforementioned organization. Dr. Villanueva, who is a graduate of the University of Puerto Rico, School of Medicine; completed his pediatric internship and residency in the Caguas Regional Hospital. During his professional career, Dr. Villanueva has been the recipient of awards, such as: “Regional Administrator of the Year “given by the US Health Department. Currently, Dr. Villanueva is an active member of the American Medical Association, the Medical Directors Association of Puerto Rico, the Puerto Rican Pediatric Association, and the Association of Medical Graduates of the University of Puerto Rico.
